This is the second restaurant review based on Takeway package, because of Coronavirus is forcing us not to dine in.
I think, not having had fine dining as takeway before was giving me false sense of positivity during my last review (Restaurant Nude). This time, I found myself struggling with the concept of great food served slightly out of serving temperature, without the ceremonies of tasting if the wines is ok and without the ambience of a restaurant as it was designed. Also, the portions, why do they have to be sooooo huge in Takeaways? Having learnt my lesson from the first Takeaway, I did go easy and just ordered one starter and one main. The food was great, like you'd expect from Farang. Reason why I did takeway here was that I've had this food before, and I did love it back then. I still did. It is the best pork you'll ever have. This recipe is available in a Farang -recipe book too, so for those interested in exploring it, it is worth the trouble (takes about 20 hours to make, I recall?). The food can be obtained from the menu under FARANG PORK BELLY & PALM SUGAR CARAMEL - and that is the signature dish in this place. For starters I did a Som Tam, like one does in a Thai place. I hate to say it, but maybe because I've had this meal in a better version outside my home, I didn't feel this to be one of the best experiences I've had. I'm rating it 6.5/10. Sorry.
